Herban Remedy was created as a space where healing is approached gently, holistically, and with deep respect for the body’s innate intelligence. True healing is supported when individuals feel safe, seen, and supported—when care extends beyond symptoms to include the emotional, mental, and energetic layers of the human experience.

This approach honors the body as a whole. Rather than focusing on isolated concerns, attention is given to how stress, life experiences, and long-standing patterns may be held within the body. A variety of supportive services are offered to meet the individual where they are, allowing care to be tailored to the unique needs of each person.

By supporting the nervous system and allowing space for regulation, the body is better able to communicate its needs and move toward balance in its own time. Healing at Herban Remedy is never forced or rushed. Each session is guided by presence, curiosity, and respect for individual timing.

Compassionate care, thoughtful listening, and a collaborative approach are central to this work—honoring the understanding that every person’s path to healing is unique and deserving of patience and respect.

NIKKI'S BACKGROUND AND APPROACH

Nikki’s path into healing work has been shaped by both education and lived experience. Her curiosity about the human body, health, and healing began early and led her to study at Ferris State University, where she spent seven years in higher education—beginning in pre-medical studies and graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. During that time, she also worked as a phlebotomist, gaining hands-on experience and a deep respect for the physical body and its complexity.

While nursing provided a strong clinical foundation, Nikki’s interest in health always extended beyond symptoms and diagnoses. She was drawn to understanding why the body responds the way it does and how emotional stress, life experiences, and environment influence overall well-being. That curiosity deepened significantly after becoming a mother.

Motherhood became a turning point—shifting how Nikki viewed health, healing, and care. Supporting her children naturally and thoughtfully led her to explore holistic and alternative approaches, and to question conventional models that often overlook the emotional and nervous system components of healing. This personal journey ultimately inspired a transition into natural and integrative health work.

After working as a nurse, Nikki enrolled at the Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Education, where she earned her certification as a Natural Health Therapist. Her studies emphasized whole-person care and reinforced the belief that the body holds innate wisdom when given the right support and environment.

Nikki continued her education through two years at the Somatic Wisdom Institute (formerly the Vitalist Institute), where her understanding of trauma, somatic practices, and deeper healing processes expanded further. This work strengthened her ability to recognize how stress and lived experiences are held within the body, and how gentle, nervous-system-informed approaches can support meaningful change.

Alongside formal education, Nikki has spent years doing her own inner work—an experience she believes is essential for anyone holding space for others. Personal growth, self-reflection, and nervous system awareness are not separate from her work; they are foundational to it. Being the best version of herself—for her children and for future generations—continues to guide both her personal life and professional path.

Nikki is a lifelong learner who values curiosity, critical thinking, and continued growth. She believes healing is not linear, that answers evolve, and that meaningful care comes from listening deeply—to the body, to lived experience, and to each individual’s unique story. Her work is rooted in compassion, education, intuition, and a genuine desire to support individuals, families, and the wider community in living healthier, more connected lives.
